The journalist who went travelling

How many times have you spent the day in an office (often windowless) and dreamt about travelling – and writing about your travelling?

It’s always nice to see someone actually do it, and that’s what Vicki Kellaway, a former colleague at the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo has gone and done.

As announcements about what you’re going to do when you say you’re resigning, “I’m going to teach in the Galapagos Islands” is certainly one of the more memorable.

The reason I mention all this is because I stumbled across Vicki’s new blog the other day – Banana Skin Flip Flops, which is one of those blogs where, once you’ve read one post, you have to read the entire archive straight away.

A great read – and one which already feels as though it could easily become a book.
